Test results from the Paradise Island Resort for the individuals suspected of Covid-19 have all returned as negative.
Monitoring mechanisms placed on the resort has now been lifted by the authorities.

As per protocol, temporary monitoring measures enacted on the resort has now been uplifted
Government spokesperson Mabrook Azeez had informed that eight locals and two foreigners, a total of ten, were being tested for the virus.
Paradise is the only resort of Villa Hotels currently operating in the country. The group had announced that it will be closing operations in its resorts due to a lack of arrivals and income, and will be focusing on the Paradise Island Resort, where bookings to other resorts would be moved to.
The current situation with the virus hs left many resorts and businesses in the Maldioves heavily affected. The country's economy is also heavily suffering due to the virus, to which the government is working to adequately respond.
The Maldives has confirmed 13 cases of the virus so far, and it has been 14 days since the country last tested a positive case.
