Health Protection Agency (HPA) announced that three locals were being tested for the Covid-19 disease after being in direct contact with a positive case.
The three were being tested after exhibiting symptoms of the virus, and HPA stated that all three were now under home isolation.
The government announced last night that seven Maldivians were being tested for the disease after arriving back in the country. All of them had returned from abroad before exhibiting symptoms of the virus. Out of the seven, five had returned from India, while the other two had returned from Sri Lanka.
The authorities are awaiting the test results of 25 samples. 334 test samples had been taken by the government so far and had received 286 negative results. The Maldives has had 13 confirmed cases of the virus, all foreigners, so far. The government stated that those tested positive are all doing well.
