The Maldivian government has just announced in a press conference that two more cases of the Covid-19 disease were identified in the country.
The new cases were identified after pending results were received, bringing the total number of cases in the country to six.
The two new cases were identified from the Kuredu Island Resort, which is also the location of the first two cases identified in the country. The first two cases were two employees of the resort.
Two tourists from Sandies Bathala Resort also tested positive for the disease. No further cases have been reported from the resort yet.
Both Kuredu and Bathala are in lockdown following the cases.

Government spokesperson Mabrook Azeez, speaking at the press conference tonight stated that the two positive cases were both foreigners.
Health Minister Abdulla Ameen has previously stated that the 175 people, in contact with the Italian tourist that departed the Maldives and later tested positive for the disease, were identified.
A total of 65 people are placed in room isolation from Kuredu Island Resort, while 25 people are placed in home isolation. One of these people, identified in Sh. Foakaidhoo was later moved to the quarantine center in Farukolhufushi.
The government had also ordered the self-isolation of 15 employees of the Maagiri Hotel, where the Italian tourist had stayed before departing. A female employee of the Emirates ticketing office, who communicated with the tourist has also been placed in quarantine after exhibiting symptoms of the disease.
