Elderly man reported as missing found dead

An elderly man reported missing in Dh. Meedhoo has been found dead.

Police stated that the 83-year old man was found dead in the waters near the island after his family began searching for him. The man had gone to the afternoon prayers and had not been seen since, causing the family to begin searching for the man.

Reports of the incident were received by Police around 13:30 today and the man was pronounced dead after being brought to the health center in Meedhoo.

Police are now reviewing the incident.
