Cases against eight more Thinadhoo arson-attack suspects sent to PG Office

Cases have been submitted to the Prosecutor General’s (PG) Office against eight additional people suspected of having been involved in the arson attacks on government property in Gdh. Thinadhoo on 8 February 2012.

The eight people are, Thinadhoo Council Member Ali Ikram of Asareege, Gdh. Thinadhoo; Fathimath Jameela of Hindhoos, Gdh. Thinadhoo, who is the mother of Thinadhoo Council’s MDP Member Mohamed Hassan Didi; Mohamed Nasih Rasheed of Den, Gdh. Thinadhoo; Ahmed Ayaz of Dheeframge, Gdh. Thinadhoo; Shahaaullah Shameem of Theveli, Gdh. Thinadhoo; Mohamed Jaiz of Aprilge, Gdh. Faresmaathoda; Ahmed Aneel of Binmaage, Gdh. Hoadeddhoo; and Zihan Mohamed of Dhibahaaruge, Gdh. Vaadhoo.

Police said that the cases against the eight suspects of arson attacks on Gdh. Atoll Council Office, Thinadhoo Police Station and Thinadhoo Magistrate Court were sent to PG Office on 4 September.

Police also sent cases against 108 people, including two minors, alleged of the same crime, to PG Office in May 2012.
