State Trading Organization (STO) is gearing up to begin a shipping line, according to the company.
General Manager of STO, Fuel, Logistics, and Construction Abdul Wahid Moosa stated to “Sun” that all the preparations to begin a shipping line were underway by the company.
“All the surveys and assessments have been conducted and the vessels are being readied for the operations. We are checking a boat that can transport 1000 containers to make two trips per month at first,” said Wahid.
The reason for STO to0 enter into the shipping sector was because STO was the company that imported the most into the country and such a move would bring convenience to other businesses as well.
Previous efforts in other administrations failed for different reasons, according to Wahid.
