5 more islands receive support from BML Community Fund

The Bank of Maldives (BML) has released funding to social initiatives in five local islands in the fourth round of its #AharanegeBank Community Fund.

The five projects selected for the fourth round of the #AharengeBank Community Fund are:

  • Installation of solar-powered street lights in H. Dh. Kumundhoo
  • Development of a plastic recycling point in Th. Guraidhoo
  • Development of an outdoor fitness park at H. Dh. Kurinbee
  • Development of a green park for children in H. A. Hoarafushi
  • Development of a communal outdoor gym in Th. Vilufushi

BML has released funding to projects run by civilians, NGO’s and volunteers in 20 local islands this year, and has reiterated its commitment to reinvesting its profits for the betterment of local communities.

“The Community Fund has provided funding to, and has boosted the number of initiatives run for the betterment of local communities across Maldives. We have provided support to social projects in total 20 islands under the Community Fund this year,” said BML’s Public Relations Manager Mohamed Saeed.
