Police raid massage parlour, arrest six

Police have raided a massage parlour located on the third floor of Ma. Calcutta house and arrested six people, following an operation conducted at around 21:30 last night.

Those arrested were one Maldivian man, one Thai woman, two Bangladeshi women and two Bangladeshi men.

A crowd had gathered near Ma. Calcutta house as the Police took the people into custody. They are suspected of having being involved in prostitution.

Police said that information on the forensic evidence collected from the massage parlour will be revealed later.

Police also raided Sondor Beauty Care located at H. Philadelphia house last Sunday night, and arrested four people.

Since the change of government, 23 massage parlours suspected to be brothels have been closed down, with about 90 people arrested. Of those arrested, 43 have been deported.
