The Elections Commission (EC) of the Maldives has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with India to train EC officials and employees.
The agreement was signed at the sixth Joint Commission Meeting between the two countries currently underway in Hyderabad House in New Delhi, India. Vice President of the Elections Commission Ahmed Akram stated that with this agreement, training opportunities for employees of the commission would increase.

“This is turn will allow the Elections Commission to provide training for media and political parties to better enhance the democratic system,” said Akram.
India has been providing training for Elections Commission employees since 2011.
