7 Sri Lankan boats captured in Maldivian waters

MNDF has captured seven Sri Lankan fishing boats in Maldivian territorial waters today.

The boats were fishing illegally inside Maldivian waters, according to MNDF and two of these boats were captured trawling. The boats were seized 170 nautical miles away from Male’ city and work to bring the boats to the capital were underway, according to the authorities.

MNDF stated that the operation that capture the fishing boats was commenced yesterday upon information received from a local boat named "Asuruma -3"
