Corporate Maldives introduces ‘Next 100’ to mark success of SMEs

Corporate Maldives has introduced Next 100 to celebrate the success of local small and medium enterprises.

According to Corporate Maldives, Next 100 will apply only to local enterprises, and the list of Next 100 winners will be published at the end of each year.

Enterprises which wish to apply for the first edition of Next 100 need to have been registered and operational by December 2018, or before.

They also need to earn an annual revenue in the range of MVR 100,000 to MVR 15 million.

Next 100 will be judged based on five main criterions. Which are:

  • Scale of business operation
  • Success
  • Innovativeness
  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
  • Compliance with laws

SMEs from 19 business sectors can apply for Next 100. They are:

  • Tourist resorts
  • Tourist hotels
  • Tourist guesthouses
  • Travel agents
  • Spas
  • Diving and water sports activities
  • Wholesale and retail trade
  • Construction
  • Foodservice activities
  • Information and communication
  • Financial and insurance
  • Real estate
  • Education and healthcare
  • Professional services
  • Technical services
  • Arts, entertainment, and recreation
  • Media
  • Aviation
  • Other
