Two warships of the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force have arrived in the Maldives as part of a friendly visit.

MNDF stated that the two warships visiting the Maldives are “JMSDF Takashima” and “JMSDF Bungo” and will be in the country from 15 to 18 October.

Exercises at sea such as warship operations, military drills, firefighting drills, damage control, and naval drills will be conducted with the two warships by MNDF during this visit.

The Takashima is a destroyer class warship while the Bungo is a mine-clearing vessel of the Japanese navy.
