Applications for the Presidents' National Award for Special Achievement has been opened by the special awards committee today.
This award is presented once a year to those who attain special achievements in education, skills, and perseverance at a national level. This years' categories are:
1) Those individuals who have completed education certificates equivalent to MQA ranking levels of 7, 8, 9 and 10 with a grade point average of 85% or higher.
2) Those individuals or teams who have completed a research topic or dissertation with exceptional distinction.
3) Those individuals or teams who have done exceptionally well or achieved the highest rank in an international competition or exhibition.
4) Those individuals or teams who have created effective solutions to pressing national issues through their innovation and research.
The details released by the President's Office state that the winner must not have won a Presidential award before and their achievements must be attained after 2016. Winners will be awarded a certificate of remembrance and a medal awards at a ceremony on the National day of this year. The deadline for applications is September 15, 2019.
