Maaniu appointed to Judicial Service Commission

Abdul Maaniu Hussain has been appointed a member of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).

Maaniu had won the election to select a representative of the legal community to the JSC held by the Bar Council on Saturday, July 27, with 199 votes.

He took his oath of office in a function held at the President’s Office this Wednesday.

His oath was administered by Supreme Court Justice Abdulla Areef.

Maaniu, after he took his oath, was presented with his letter of appointment by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

Maaniu had previously also run for the Executive Committee of the Bar Council. He lost by just one vote for former Makunudhoo MP Anara Naeem.
