Weather forecast app launched in Maldives

A weather forecast app has been launched by the Maldives Meteorological Service (Met Office). The app was launched at a ceremony held in the Environment Ministry by the Environment Minister Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan.

The app was created by the Met Office to upgrade and develop the equipment and service of the Met Office under the free aid of the Italian government. Met Office informed that the app will be available as soon as the Appstore’s approve it.

Some of the information available on the app:

1)    Information regarding the current weather.

2)    Weather forecast for the rest of the day.

3)    Weather forecast by the Met Office for the next five days.

4)    Data from the Automatic weather stations placed in different locations across the country.

5)    Weather alerts by the Met Office.

6)    Latest radar and satellite photo.

7)    Latest earthquake information.

8)    Important letters and meanings of words used in the field.
