The Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has conducted training sessions in collaboration with the Japanese armed forces.

The trainings were conducted at sea to the east of Hulhule this Monday morning.

MNDF’s information officer, Captain Ibrahim Azim stated that the trainings were conducted regarding rescue operations at sea and the coastguard ship “Huravee” and a Japanese navy airplane was used in the exercises.

The trainings included scenarios on how to rescue aid and assist people at sea and were taken part by a number of Coast Guard officers. Such training exercises help prepare for incidents at sea during bad weather and allows MNDF to be prepared for any given situation at sea.
