The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has requested intervention as a third-party in the case lodged by Bank of Maldives (BML) against the Commission on Corruption and Asset Recovery.
The Commission on Corruption and Asset Recovery was created by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to counter corruption.
The case filed by BML against the Commission on Corruption and Asset Recovery with Civil court is currently in the dispute resolution stage.
The president of the Commission on Corruption and Asset Recovery, Mr. Ahmed Assad has previously stated that the case was brought forward as a result of a request for information made by the commission to BML.
He has also stated that the request was made due to a pending investigation by the commission, however BML had responded that it was not able to provide the requested information due to a High Court ruling.
