ACC, BroadCom sent summons by Independent Institutions Committee

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and Maldives Broadcasting Commission (BroadCom) have been sent summons for questioning by the Independent Institutions Committee of the Parliament.

Deputy Chairperson of Independent Institutions Committee, South Galolhu MP Mikhail Naseem confirmed members of both ACC and BroadCom will be summoned for questioning on Wednesday.

ACC is scheduled to be questioned regarding some of the cases it rejected. And BroadCom is scheduled to be questioned regarding its former VP Ismail Sofwan not reporting to work despite being on a salary.

Mikhail has also announced that members of the general public have the opportunity to query the commissions regarding any issue through him, by submitting their questions via Twitter.

Both ACC and BroadCom have been hit with repeated allegations of corruption and bias in recent years.
