Maldives National University (MNU) has announced their plans for introducing an E-learning sysytem in Maldives.
Centre for Educational Technology and Excellence (CETE) of MNU will be collaborating with Open University of Catalonia, Spain, University of Zagreb, Croatia and Croatian Academic and Research Network (CARNET), Croatia.
MNU introduced the project named Advanced Higher Education in Maldives Through E-learning Development (AMED) last Tuesday in an event held in MNU.

The project will under go with the help of European Union and the system would be made available by 2022.
"Now we are holding interviews to identify the needs of the university. After this initial stage we will start to develop the material and train the faculties. Only after these stages will the system reach the students," said the Deputy Vice Chancellor of MNU Aishath Shahin.
She also said that the aim of the system is to establish a robust system at MNU for the development and delivery of e-learning in Maldives.
