Gemanafushi Council Members come to Male

After countless requests to resolve the issues upfront in the island, to the government and failing to receive any solutions, five members of the Gemanafushi Council arrives in Male’ today morning. Their visit is to meet the President and the Cabinet.

Asim Mohamed, President of the Gemanafushi Council which has DRP Majority, said that the School toilets which had been started to build in 2008, have its walls only built up with rest of the work halted and due to this the School is obliged to send the students home each time they wanted to use the toilet. He also added that for the Council administerial work, only one staff is there and this issue had also been taken to the National Office but to this day, the problem remains the same.

Asif also said that now, even the very minor tests are unavailable from the Gemanafushi Health Center, and that it’s been days since almost all particulars used for dressing have been over and the machineries been out of order. He also added that the reason for them, coming to Male’ was the failure of response from the government after repeatedly requesting the government to resolve these problems.

Asif said that the Male’ visit was decided by a meeting of the Council where all the attendees agreed on the decision. He said that after coming to Male’ an appointment has been fixed to meet the President.
