Main ruling party, Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) says it has resolved the reregistration issues it faced ahead of its primary for the parliamentary elections.

The issue arose after server access given to district presidents and candidates to register members of the party was misused by several parties to reregister hundreds of voters to different locations.

MDP issued a statement last Friday announcing it has reviewed complaints and reregistered approximately 2,000 voters to the correct location.

The issue is under further investigation by the Complaints Committee, says MDP.

The MDP Primary for Parliamentary Elections 2019 is scheduled to be held on January 18. And the Parliamentary Elections is scheduled to be held on April 6.
