Investigation launched into Suood’s accusations against judges

Committee formed regarding the comments made by the Chairperson of the Committee formed to investigate the deaths and missing persons, Husnu Suood, that alleged the judges of the Criminal Court are involved with street gangs.

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) said that the committee was formed to investigate the allegations made by Suood. JSC also raised concerned that Suood shared the information publicly without bringing it to the attention of the JSC.  

Although JSC has confirmed a committee, it is unclear who is on the said committee.

Suood has previously said that the justice system is being abused and there is no hope for justice with current Judges at the Criminal Court.

He alleged that Judges nominated by the gangs are appointed to the court and some judges use gangs as bodyguards as well.
