The protests which started in the morning in Kulhuduffushi have been concluded.
According to the protesters, the demonstrations have been concluded after a meeting held between the island council and the people who have headed the demonstrations. In the meeting the island council has requested for a three-day period to resolve the issue of the land sale problem.
One of the protesters said that if within the time given, the problem is not been resolved; the demonstrations would begin yet again. And even then if no solution comes up, they would be seeking court assistance in order to resolve the issue.
Kulhudhuffushi Council President Jamsheed Mohamed said that he had written a letter and handed it to the protesters saying that within the three days given, he would try and resolve the problem of the land sale issue. He also added that the reason he had asked for three days was to talk it out with the different ministries involved in the issue.
