Commission formed to investigate the deaths

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has formed a commission to investigate the murders and the people who went missing.

The President’s Office said that the commission was formed today with five member.

The members on the committee are:

  • The former Attorney General, Husnu Suood
  • Abdulla Munaz, Henveiru Maafiya
  • Adam Ibrahim, Galolhu Dimlight
  • Lawyer Fareesha Abdulla
  • Journalist, Misbaah Abbas

Leading the commission is the former Attorney General and popular legal attorney, Husnu Suood.

President’s Office said that the commission will be investigating the murder cases and missing persons cases between January 2012 to 17 November 2018 that has not been adequately investigated.

The commission formed under the authority of the President under Article 115 of the Constitution and has been authorized with the power of an investigative body according to the President’s Office.

 

President Solih has promised an independent investigation in to the deaths of blogger Yaamin Rasheed and Afrashim Ali along with the disappearance of the journalist, Ahmed Rilwan is
