Maldives Police Services has reported that one-month old baby had been tested positive upon drug tests and put under care at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
Police Media Official Ahmed Shiyam said today that the police were already conducting investigations into the matter to see what had gone wrong.
Shiyam said that the baby’s mother had not been arrested because the baby would need her.
In a similar incident a while ago, an eight-month baby was tested positive for narcotic. In that case, the mother was criminally charged and convicted, for being criminally negligent in her duty to take care of the baby.
