Finance Committee has passed a budget of MVR 52 million for the Auditor General’s Office for the coming year.
The Auditor General’s Office had a budget of MVR 50 million this year and when the Audit Office sent the budget to the Parliament, they requested a budget of MVR 60 million for 2019.
After researching the report for the Audit Office, the Finance Committee decided that the budget for the Auditor General’s Office for 2019 is MVR 52 million. And if a budget not exceeding 60 million is needed, a contingency budget will be decided by the Ministry of Finance and Treasury.
The budget report for 2019 by the Auditor General’s Office estimates MVR 41 million for employees as salary and benefits.
