Reynis Saleem appointed to Judicial Service Commission

Attorney-at-law, Mohamed Saleem (Reynis Saleem) has been appointed the President’s member at Judicial Service Commission (JSC).

Saleem was given his letter of appointment by President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom in a function held at President’s Office this Tuesday morning.

He was sworn in by Supreme Court Judge Abdulla Areef at the same function.

Saleem previously served as a member of JSC during former Maldivian President Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik’s administration, but was later removed from the post.

JSC is compiled of a Supreme Court judge, Speaker of People’s Majlis, a High Court judge, a lower court judge, a member of People’s Majlis, a common citizen, President of Civil Service Commission, an appointee by President, Attorney General and an attorney.

Saleem is the President’s appointee to the JSC.
