The opposition candidate for the Presidential Election this September, the MP for Hinnavaru constituency, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih (Ibu) has paused his campaign and left for UK.

In a tweet, MDP confirmed that their candidate has left for the UK with a picture of their presidential candidate, Vice President, Mohamed Shifaz and Chairperson, Hassan Latheef at the airport.

Sources say that Ibu went to UK for the graduation of his daughter.

Talking to the press after the campaign trip to Addu City and Fuvahmulah City, Ibu said that he has a trip abroad which would take two to three days. However he did not say what kind of trip that was. He said that the campaign trips to other atolls will begin after his trip abroad; after 23 July.

Even though Ibu has paused the campaign, his running mate, Jumhoory Party-appointed, MP for Kaashidhoo constituency, Faisal Naseem, is in Male' City and continue the campaign with the heads of the opposition coalition.
