Investigation begins into Home Minister being threatened

The Police have said that the case of Minister of Home Affairs Dr Mohamed Jameel Ahmed being threatened by two citizens of Dh. Maaen’boodhoo during his recent visit to Maaen’boodhoo, is currently under investigation.

A Police Media Official said that the incident took place last week, and that Abdullah Rasheed, 32, and Mohamed Nazlee, 30, of Dh. Maaen’boodhoo have been arrested in relation to this crime.

The accused have now been brought to Male’.

The law on threatening, intimidation and using weapons and sharp objects to do so stipulates that any person convicted of this crime will be imprisoned for six to 18 months.
