Travel Awards: People's Edition to launch next week

The People's Edition of the MATATO Maldives Travel Awards, focusing on the notable individuals in the tourism industry, has been set to launch next week. 

As a component of the Maldives Travel Awards, the inaugural People's Edition awards celebrating individuals in the tourism sector were given out last year. 

Last year, the People's Edition awards were given to ten individuals. However, only five awards will be given in the People's Edition this year. The winners will be selected by a panel of experienced industry experts. 

The Deputy Secretary General of MATATO, Asra Naseem (Asu) told Sun Media that a very special ceremony will be held next week to launch the People's Edition this year. 

The event is set to be held at resort, One & Only Reethi Rah with different media and industry stakeholders invited. 

One & Only Reethi Rah is a notable luxury resort in the Maldives that won three awards in the MATATO Maldives Travel Awards 2017; Leading Family Resort, Leading F&B Resort and Leading HR Management. 

This year's People's Edition awards will be given in the Maldives Travel Awards Gala 2018 later this year.
