Applications open for MATATO Maldives Travel Awards

Applications has been opened for the most prestigious travel awards in the Maldives, the MATATO Maldives Travel Awards 2018. 

At the MATATO annual Iftar breakfast held at Hotel Jen today, the application for the Maldives Travel Awards: Gala Edition was opened by the President of MATATO, Abdulla Giyas Riza. 

The Gala Edition of the Maldives Travel Awards is a special edition for hotels, resorts, airlines and liveaboard brands where 25 awards will be given in different categories along with special recognition awards by the Maldives Association for Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO). 

Applications are open via the Maldives Travel Awards website. 

While the applications closed for the Guest House Edition of the Travel Awards on 15 May, the nominees in the category is set to be announced this June. 

The Guest House Edition is the first event in the sixth annual Maldives Travel Awards. It would be followed by the Gala Edition where the awards in the People's Edition would be given out as well. 

As per tradition started three years ago, the night before the Gala Edition, MATATO will host their annual Maldives Travel Conference where leaders in the the tourism sector will meet and hold discussions.
