Shifau appointed President of Employment Tribunal

Attorney Ahmed Shifau has been appointed President of the Employment Tribunal.

The appointment was announced by the Spokesperson at President’s Office, Ibrahim Muaz Ali this Monday.

Muaz tweeted that Shifau has been appointed both a member of the Employment Tribunal and its President by Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.

Shifau was sworn in as a member of the Employment Tribunal in a function held at the President’s Office by Supreme Court Judge Shujau Usman this Monday.

Shifau was working as a legal officer at Maldives Customs Service before his appointment to the Employment Tribunal.

The post of President of Employment Tribunal lay vacant when its former President, Hussain Faiz Rashad was appointed a Judge at the Civil Court.

The Employment Tribunal has five members. They are:

  1. Ahmed Shifau (President)
  2. Aishath Fizleen (Vice President)
  3. Mariyam Sham’a Ibrahim
  4. Mariyam Muna
  5. Mariyam Rishfa
