Police officer assaulted in Male’ City

A police officer was assaulted and left injured in Male’ City last Sunday night.

Police media official reported the officer was assaulted in the land where the King Salman Mosque is being built, at the Alimas Carnival area.

“The police officer was beaten and left injured. And he was stabbed on the back using a sharp weapon,” said the official.

The police officer has now been discharged after treatment at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital, said the official.

The assault is under investigation by the police.
