Quran teaches that God created water before he created earth and heavens: Gayoom

Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom has said that the Quran teaches that God created water before he created the earth and the heavens.

Gayoom made this statement at the function held at Islamic Centre by Maumoon Foundation last night. He also said that humans and every living being in this universe was made from water.

“God gives life to dead land through rain, which freshens and invigorates the land, allowing it to grow trees which bear fruits, which provide abundant blessings from God,” he said.

Gayoom referred to water shortages being experienced in different parts of the world, and advised that water should not be wasted, and that we should protect God’s blessings.

Dr Afrasheem Ali said at last night’s function that God sent every religion other than Islam to a defined people, and for a defined period of time. Islam, however, was sent for all humanity.

Maumoon Foundation has announced that the last function of the Ihya series will be held on the eve of 27 Ramadan.
