Man stabbed in Male' City

A man has been stabbed in Male' City in the early hours of this morning.

Sources have told Sun Media that the attack took place near the PK pitch near the Henveiru Chai Time between 3 - 3:30 p.m.

A witness to the incident said that the victim in the attack ran to the Slender Mart shop behind Senahiya where he collapsed.

The witness said that the collapsed man, stabbed in the torso on his right side, was taken to ADK Hospital by a man on a motorcycle passing by at the time.

The victim in the attack is now admitted at the hospital for treatment.

Maldives Police Service is searching a house in the area where the attack took place. Sun Media journalists in the area saw a broken window at one of the houses.

People in the area before the incident told Sun Media that there was a group of people armed with pieces of wood.

Sun Media has learned that the victim in the attack is not in critical condition.

Our journalists saw the police taking an injuries, unconscious man to the hospital on an ambulance. He was brought to the hospital.
