As a special envoy of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, the Minister of Housing and Infrastructure, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, has met and checked up on the former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, Chief Justice, Abdulla Saeed and Supreme Court Judge, Ali Hameed, all who are currently in police custody.
The meetings were held today.
Taking to twitter after the meetings, Dr. Muizzu said that he checked up on the former President Maumoon and the two judges as a special envoy.
The Minister said that he has learned about the condition of their custody and all three are in good health.
No further details were given by the Housing Minister.
Former President, Maumoon, is currently in Maafushi jail, under suspicion of bribing MPs, influencing judges to reach certain verdicts and conspiracy to overthrow the government.
Chief Justice, Abdulla Saeed and Supreme Court Judge, Ali Hameed are charged with accepting bribes and conspiracy to overthrow the government.
