Deputy Commissioner Saudhy terminated from post

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Saudhy from H. A. Hoarafushi has been terminated from his post.

Saudhy was put in charge of running Maldives Police Service after former Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Areef was terminated from his post last Thursday night.

Announcing that Saudhy has been terminated from his post, President’s Office said the decision was made by President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom in accordance with the Police Act.

Former CP, Ahmed Areef was fired from his post after the President failed to contact him despite numerous attempts, after the Supreme Court issued its court order calling for the immediate release of all opposition political leaders on Thursday.
