Elderly man found dead in the streets in Komandoo

An elderly man has been found dead in the streets in Sh. Komandoo, this Monday.

The elderly man was 72 years old, reports the police.

Police say the authority received report the elderly man was taken to the island’s health center at 4:45 am. The doctors confirmed he was dead when taken to the health center, said the police.

Vice President of Komandoo Council, Mohamed Arif Ahmed reported to “Sun” that the man seemed to have collapsed in the streets, on his way to the health center. Arif said the man had his national identity card in his pocket when he was found.

A local who spoke to “Sun” said the man was sickly due to old age, and rarely ventured out of his home. The local said the man’s family lived in Male’ City, and that he stayed with relatives in the island.
