Maldivian bond wins international award

The USD 200 million bond listed in the Singapore stock market by the Maldivian government has won an international award.

The first Maldivian bond to be listed internationally won an award by The Asset – an Asian financial magazine.

The USD 200 million bond won the Best Bond award under the Best Deals category – dedicated to bonds in South Asia.

Neighboring Sri Lanka also won the Best Bond award for its USD 1.5 billion fixed rate notes.

Ministry of Finance stated the award showed the success of the USD 200 million bond, listed in May, 2017.

The maturity rate of the bond is five years.
