Shifaz, Niyaz, Azim and Hassantey summoned to the Police

Four key members of MDP has been summoned by the police in suspicion of public gathering at an area banned from public gatherings under the law.

They are, the Vice President of MDP, Mohamed Shifaz, MPD Chairperson, Ali Niyaz, the MP for mid-Henveiru constituency, Ali Azim and member of the MDP National Council, Hassan Ahmed (Hassantey).

Shifaz was ordered to appear at the police station a 5 p.m., Azim at 6 p.m., Hassantey at 6:30 p.m. and Niyaz at 10 p.m. tomorrow.

Last Friday evening, the opposition coalition hosted a rally entitled "Destroying Tourism and Robbing Property" near their campaign hall on Boduthakurufaanu Magu in Male' City.

The rally was held in protest after police and customs officers went to resorts owned by the Jumhooree Party Leader, Qasim Ibrahim, to execute a court order.
