Ahmed Saleem (Maaz Saleem) has been terminated from his post as Deputy Minister at Ministry of Home Affairs.
Maaz Saleem was reportedly terminated from his post last Wednesday. “Sun” has been unable to reach Maaz Saleem for a comment.
Maaz Saleem was previously a member of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM). He later joined Jumhoory Party (JP) and competed for the North Henveyru seat at the parliament as a JP candidate at the last election, but lost.
Maaz Saleem parted ways with JP after it dissolved its partnership with PPM and joined forces with the opposition, Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP). He has been an active participant in President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom’s re-election campaign. He even joined First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim on her recent tour of A. A. Atoll.
