Keys being handed to flat winners in Hulhumale'

Authorities have starting giving away the keys to the flat winners in the latest round in Hulhumale'.

The flat selection among the winners of the 704 flats in Hulhumale' was held earlier this month. One of the winners told Sun Media that the key has been given to him but not to everyone yet.

So far there has been no word from the Housing Ministry so far.

The new flats given on this round are three-room apartments with attached toilets. The flats were given on two categories with 500 flats given in the first categories. The second category include applicants registered in Male' City who were given 161 flats.

The flats have a down-payment of MVR 25,000 and a monthly rent of MVR 6,000.

Housing Minister, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has previously said that 167 families with a member with disability were given flats on this round. Dr. Muizzu said that people will start living in the flats in January 2018.
