President inaugurates Thulhaadhoo Harbor; marks completion of beach protection project

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has inaugurated the harbor at B. Thulhaadhoo and taken part in the celebration over completion of the island’s beach protection project.

The MVR 50.4 million Thulhaadhoo Harbor was contracted to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) in 2014. The harbor is 1,210-foot long and 550-foot wide.

BEACH PROTECTION PROJECT

The beach protection project in B. Thulhaadhoo was launched on November 13, 2015, and completed on November 29, 2017.

Infrastructure development projects currently in progress in Thulhaadhoo include establishment of a modern water supply system and sewerage system.

The MVR 75.5 million State project was launched in May, 2016.
