White Alert issued for a large portion of the country

Expecting bad weather, a White Alert has been issued from Haa Alifu Atoll to Laamu Atoll.

National Meteorological Center said that starting from afternoon today, heavy rain is expected in the northern and central atolls.

Winds are expected at 15 mph and at 35-40 mph during showers. Seas are expected to be moderately rough and even more so during showers. The MET Office said that the current rain experienced in the country will last through to Sunday.
