Tornado hits Milandhoo

A tornado has hit Shaviyani atoll Milandhoo.

Two houses on the island sustained damages in the form of collapsed ceilings in the tornado event around 11:50 a.m. this morning.

Vice President of the Shaiyani Milandhoo Island Council, Ahmed Shiyam told Sun Media today that although two houses sustained a lot of damages, most houses weren't affected by the tornado.

He said that despite the tornado, the weather remains clear and the damaged houses are being cleaned.
