Maldives Customs has opened an office building at H. Dh. Hanimaadhoo to improve the quality of services to the region.
The office building was officially opened in a function held at Hanimaadhoo this Wednesday by Commissioner General of Customs, Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed.
Speaking at the function, Shareef said improving the quality of Customs services was a priority to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom’s administration.
“The main purpose of this new Customs office building should be to improve the quality of Customs control at the Hanimaadhoo International Airport. The adjoining land will be used to build a bonded warehouse in the future,” said Shareef.
Shareef said the bonded warehouse – once established – will be used to expand services to nearby resorts.
Construction of the Hanimaadhoo Customs office building was launched in 2014. It cost MVR 7.1 million from the State budget to build.
