Changes brought to top positions within police

Changes have been brought to top positions within the Maldives Police Service.

“Sun” has been informed changes were brought to four key positions within MPS on October 29.

They include:

- Superintendent of Police, Abdulla Ahmed to the position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Police Corporative Society.

- Superintendent of Police, Ahmed Shuhad to the position of Deputy Head of Information and Communications Directorate.

- Superintendent of Police, Mohamed Basheer to the position of Deputy Head of Crime Investigations Department.

- Superintendent of Police, Hassan Haneef to the position of Head of Family and Child Protection Department.

Meanwhile, Civil Officer Hassan Hameed has been dismissed from his position as Legal Counsel of Commissioner of Police, and replaced by another civil officer.

The changes come as a special committee by President’s Office investigates a dispute between Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Areef and Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Saudhy.
