82,000 votes received for 96 nominees of MATATO Guesthouse Edition

Parties have cast 82,000 votes for the 96 nominees competing in Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) Maldives Travel Awards: Guesthouse Edition, says MATATO.

Voting for the Guesthouse Edition was open from September 28 to October 28. MATATO says it received 32,000 votes for nominees online and 50,00 votes for nominees via SMS.

Speaking to “Sun”, Deputy Secretary-General of MATATO, Asra Naseem reported that unlike previous years; winners will be selected based 60 percent on votes and 40 percent of TripAdvisor review.

Asra said this year’s winners will be chosen from 15 categories. Winners from 12 categories will be selected based on TripAdvisor reviews and votes. And winners from three categories will be selected by MATATO.

MATATO Maldives Travel Awards: Guesthouse Edition will be held in K. Maafushi on Monday.
