Fuvahmulah man hospitalized after found in serious condition at lagoon

A man, discovered in serious condition at the Fuvahmulah City lagoon has been hospitalized.

Manager at Gn. Atoll Hospital, Mohamed Farzad reported the man was taken to the hospital at 10:35 am, this Sunday morning.

Farzad said the man is in critical condition, and is breathing through a ventilator.

The man has been identified as Abdulla Afrah, 42, from Gaaviyaa in Fuvahmulah.

“I was informed he was taken to dry land after he suffered from cramps while out in the water spearing for octopuses. Then the same people found him again in the water a short while later, in serious condition. This is the information so far,” said Farzad.
