Pakistani national arrested for smuggling drugs

A man from Pakistan who smuggled heroin into the Maldives has been arrested by the Maldives Customs Service and handed over to the Maldives Police Service.

Customs Service said that they arrested a 40-year-old man from Pakistan in an attempt to smuggle heroin yesterday. Customs officers searched the man's luggage due to his suspicious behavior.

The man smuggled 427 grams of heroin according to the Customs Service.

The Pakistani smuggler has been transferred to the custody of the Police to investigate further.
